The heroes of Overwatch each bring their own unique powers and game-changing ultimate abilities into battle. Along with their own roles on the battlefield, their potential is amplified when they assemble into a formidable team. Player's options for achieving victory are endless when a team of heroes can defy gravity, transform into rapid-firing turrets, or conjure billboard-sized energy shields.
The difficulty ratings below can be found within the game under each character's profile.
October 11, 2016Patch:Enemy players that are knocked down no longer lose their red outline.
September 1, 2016Patch:Ultimates that consume the ultimate meter when activated will now drain the meter more quickly (.25 second instead of 1 second). Reverted a recent change that reduced the size of heroes' projectiles. Most hero abilities will no longer interrupt quick melee attacks. Ultimate abilities will now interrupt quick melee attacks.
August 9, 2016Patch:Fixed a bug causing incomplete character models to load on the Hero Selection screen.
July 26, 2016Patch:Fixed a bug that would sometimes cause Lúcio, Mei, and other models to only partially render (or disappear).
July 19, 2016Patch:Reduced the chance for larger projectiles to hit targets around corners. Fixed a bug that was preventing friendly hero dialogue not being audible over long distances as intended. Self-healing abilities now charge ultimate abilities.
June 28, 2016Patch:Fixed a bug that would cause players’ weapons to auto-snap straight up or down when the crosshair was aimed between 85 and 90 degrees. Fixed a bug that would move players toward the source of a knockback rather than away from it.
March 29, 2016 (beta)Patch:Fixed an exploit that allowed players to become invulnerable if Zarya casted Projected Barrier on them and then immediately switched heroes.
March 22, 2016 (beta)Patch:It is no longer possible for some AoE weapons to deal damage to an enemy player if that player is on the other side of wall they’re partially clipping into. Ultimate charge should no longer reset whenever a player selects a different hero and then cancels while dead.
February 9, 2016 (beta)Patch:Ammo will now reload in the middle of a weapon's reload animation, instead of at the end of it. Change the visual effect of team colors and muzzle flash. Change some in-combat audio, like healing from indirect sources, attack invulnerable enemies. Change the Ultimate charge system and rebalance Ultimate cost between heroes. New commendations have been added for several heroes and one heroes can no longer receive multiple commendations.
