The On-fire Meter is a meter located in the HUD under the player's health bar. The meter increases by getting eliminations (based on damage done), healing players, taking/denying objectives, blocking damage, teleporting players (as Symmetra), reviving players (as Mercy), shutting down enemy ultimates or getting offensive/defensive/recon assist. When viewing the players in the Tab menu, players can see which players are on fire. The hero will also announce for the controlling player and their allies if they reach the on-fire point.

The meter drains at a fast rate when the player isn't doing anything or dying; constantly doing things will keep the meter from draining. It takes 300 flame points to trigger the flame halo on the heroes profile and caps at about 350-400.

NotesEdit

  • In a video posted by Blizzard on December 7, 2015, Jeff Kaplan stated that the development team were planning to change the way that the On-fire mechanic worked.[1]
  • Players do not lose any On-fire points between rounds of Control.

  • Overwatchemblem black March 25, 2016 (beta) Patch: Fixed an issue where the “On Fire” effect was not displaying on the Scoreboard.
  • Overwatchemblem black March 8, 2016 (beta) Patch: The “On Fire” mechanic while viewed through the Spectator Mode UI should scale down appropriately with the size of hero portraits.
