Overtime is an extension to the normal time given in a match if the objective is being contested when the round is about to end. Overtime is indicated by a burning wick above the score display.

Mechanics[ | ]

In Assault, Escort, Hybrid and Push, Overtime is initiated if a player has entered the current objective's area within 3 seconds of the round timer ending, while in Control and Flashpoint, players have a 4.2 second (96.5% and above) window of contest.[1]. While any number of players from the attacking team stay in the objective area, the Overtime does not deplete until all contesting players are killed or move off of the objective.

If no players from the the attacking are on the objective, Overtime starts depleting and the players have 5 seconds to enter the objective area again to reset the timer or the round will end. Once Overtime has been active for 20 seconds or more, the timer will be halved to 2.5 seconds, and after 30 seconds of Overtime the timer is reduced yet again to 1.5 seconds.[2]

During Overtime, respawn times are increased by 3 seconds.
