The Practice Range is a map available in Overwatch 2.

There are no objectives, which makes it a good place to try new heroes, practice skills, and adjust settings. There are four friendly and eleven hostile training bots on the map that perform various actions, such as staying still, shooting, and moving. There are also range markers (in meters) on the ground.

The training facility made an appearance in Uprising, which took place at the Swiss HQ, leading some to believe it is located in Switzerland.

Location[ | ]

It is debated where the location of the facility is. The training facility made an appearance in Uprising, which took place at the Swiss HQ, leading some to believe it is located in Switzerland. However, it's also believed the Watchpoint is located in the northern parts of Russia based on the map in the spawn-room in Watchpoint: Gibraltar on attack.

Ultimate Accelerators[ | ]

Ultimate accelerator.

Initially being introduced during the Battle for Olympus event, the Ultimate Accelerators have made a reappearance in the practice range. Three can be found, one outside of the Spawn Room, one above the defence section of the practice range and the other being inside of the firing range. These will instantly give you your ultimate if stood on, however, they have a brief cooldown until it can be used again.

Bot's spawn locations[ | ]

Two enemy bots spawn right outside of the spawn room to the left, opposite the practice buddy. You cannot change these into friendly bots.

A standard bot will be on a hovering platform floating around the offense and defence portions of the practice range.

Offense section of the practice range

A sniper bot can be found above the offense portion of the practice range. There is a terminal here that can enable or disable the sniper bot. By default, the sniper bot is off and will only activate once you have turned it on, using interact.

The offense portion can be found by going directly straight on from the spawn room. On the bridge above, there is a 250 Health pack. A standard friendly bot will be constantly shooting at a tank bot. This tank bot spawns with a shield that can be broken over time. There is 20 metres between the Friendly bot and the Tank bot.

Rocket bots

Two rocket bots at the offense portion of the practice range.

The defence portion of the practice range is right next to the offense portion. Four bot types will be available here: Rocket bots, Standard bots, Friendly Standard bots, Friendly heavy bots. You can change the type of bots at the two terminals at either side of the portion. Enemy bots can be changed from their side, friendly bots can be changed from their side. The heavy bots will spawn with a shield. Enemy bots will kill the friendly bots, this makes a great opportunity for the player to learn how to heal.

The Range portion is next to the offence portion of the practice range. Here, you can test how far heroes can shoot at the standard enemy bot from 40 metres. This is a great area for the player to test ranges and learn how to be the most effective as a hero.

Friendly bots at the aiming section of PR

The aiming section of the practice range is next to the range portion. Here, you can test your aim on moving bots. You can change the bots here into friendly using the terminal at the top of the stairs. Four bot types will spawn here, Standard bots, Tank Bots, Friendly Heavy bots, Friendly Standard bots. Here you can practice your aim with 4 moving targets who constantly stop. The friendly bots will lose health if you swap between the two teams.

Firing range settings

List of the firing range's settings.

The firing range is next to the aiming section of the practice range. Its main focus is letting you practice your aim in different ways. There is a hero change terminal inside on your left and on your right, you can chose what settings you want. Only the standard bots will spawn, however, you can chose to have targets instead. You can use ultimate abilities and get the same amount of points as you would on a normal run. With lock on ultimates (Like Soldier: 76), they will still lock on to the targets as well as the bots. There will be signs hanging from the ceiling telling you what the distance is out of 40 metres, along the walls, there is the same. You cannot reach behind the terminal that starts the simulation. During the simulation, you can still use the ultimate accelerator in the corner of the room, but it may not be worth camping it due to bots spawning above as well as below. You can chose how the bots and targets move and at what distance. You cannot select more then one movement pattern or distance, but you can chose the movement pattern to be random. When a player is using the simulation, the door to the practice range will be closed. This is too avoid other players coming in and ruining the score. Your total score is listed at the top left of the screen while your range settings will be at the top right of the screen.

Other rooms and walkways[ | ]

Outside of spawn, there are stairs. If you go up them you will be taken to a balcony, there are more stairs to the right and a room to the left.

There is a gym before you reach the offense section. It is a green room with dumbbells and punching bags as well as weights. There are lockers and a fridge and the lockers has two jars of peanut butter.

There is also a split walkway to the left of the spawn room. It is not connected to any other part of the practice range nor does it have any bots. There is a big health pack located on a platform behind the second satellite tower.

Trivia[ | ]

  • The loading screen for the Practice Range has three targets in the place of the two training bots, which actually appear in the map.
  • The practice range has only been revamped once, this was in Season 6
