Gamemoge tutorial

The Tutorial is an optional training mode in which the player is introduced to the basic mechanics of Overwatch. New players will be prompted to go through this mode on the first time they log in. It also can be accessed through the Training menu later. The player plays as Soldier: 76 as Athena/Tracer guides you throughout the session.

Sequence of eventsEdit

First, Soldier: 76 spawns and Athena introduces herself. Tracer appears and the player will be required to follow her by sight. First she goes to the weapons bay, then to the launch control.

Next, the player is allowed to move. Once they have demonstrated that they can move, they must follow Tracer around the room. Once they follow her to another room, they must jump over a small ledge into the door to the target range. Tracer will Recall when this happens.

When the player moves to the target range, they will be given their Heavy Pulse Rifle. Athena points out the portrait and health bar at the bottom of the screen, then spawns a Training Bot. The player must shoot it, then strike it with a melee attack when it moves forward. The bot will then be destroyed.

Three more bots will be spawned and will move around the range. Athena tells the player about reloading and the enemies' red outlines while the player fires at the bots. The player must destroy 6 bots to advance.

Athena then gives the player access to Sprint, and asks them to use it. Then, she damages the player to 75 health so they can heal themselves with Biotic Field. Finally, she lowers a wall to reveal several targets to destroy with Helix Rockets.

Athena then explains Ultimate Abilities, and spawns several Training Bots to charge it with. Once Tactical Visor is charged, three bots are spawned. The player must kill each with the ultimate to continue.

Finally, another door opens and a point is activated outside. To complete the tutorial, the player must capture it. Once this occurs, the player is put back into the main menu.
